What happened to horror?
What happened to horror movies so great? It seems that in recent years, films decent horror have been few and far between. I fear that the horror genre is in the process of weakening them out. What is the cause of the trap of my favorite movies? Could it be that farmers might be more careful about taking on these projects, because today's public is more difficult to convince?
Already in the 1980s we were entertained by scary movies easily. We were obviously much younger than we are now and maybe a little more suggestible. However, we saw slasher films and horror films that included all sorts of strange creatures, not to mention the clowns and puppets. Have we questioned its validity? Of course we did, but we use our imagination and blew off the fact that the plots were ridiculous. We knew that dolls are not come to life as the monsters are not real, but still entertained us. These films scary cause us to think more about the unknown. Our imagination ran wild when it came time to turn off the lights to go to sleep. I could not get rid of the clip of the clown in Poltergeist Carol Anne grabbing heels below the bed. Remember that this could never actually happen, and then heard a noise and his heart starts beating. You block your ears and realize how ridiculous As you are being finally drift into sleep.
I will never forget my first experience with The Exorcist. I say that the experience because I had the pleasure terrible this movie before I was old enough to see it. He was probably about nine years old when he decided to stay overnight at my aunt's house one night during the summer. We were in a heat wave and I always liked to swim in the pool and usually ended up spending the night. She and my uncle, of course, I thought I was sound asleep when they decided to see The Exorcist. All I had to do was hear the sounds from the living room and I thought it was going to happen with fear. The sounds from the attic and grunting, screaming insults and were enough for me to run the bed and demand for my mother to pick me up. I convinced my mother and my aunt, of course, felt horrible. Months later, I was still getting two blankets around my entire body at bedtime and it was just an opening for breathing. You can imagine how relaxing it was 90 degrees.
Believe it or not, The Exorcist not see me away from horror movies. I had more opportunities to rent movies bolder and more frightening, as I got older. I became a monster high school horror. I have my friends hooked too. Every time we would have at least hung a horror movie to get our car fixed adventure and scare people to death until we fell asleep. It may be interesting that one of our rental was actually The Rocky Horror Picture Show (did not read the back of that one). Every time I went to the movies in either a date or with friends or relatives, if the election were by me, my partner knew what they were getting into. I seldom be interested in spending money in the cinema to see anything but a nail-biting thriller that was sure that keep me awake all night.
Pet Sematary was another success in my book. I was fifteen when I saw this in the movies and did something about the film whole hairs on the back of my neck. The interesting thing is that I was not afraid that the fact that the creatures back from the dead as I was from the sick sister, Zelda, laying twisted on the bed insults Rachel. That was probably one of the most problematic clips I've seen in any movie of this day. Pet Sematary me out of reality and a scary place full of morbid thoughts were troubling limit. That's when you know you're watching a good horror film, when your sanity for two hours. That was also long before Steven King movies dead (I'm talking about before the Green Mile course).
You get the idea. I love horror. Horror is one of the reasons why I love movies. I must say that the dramas are a very close seconds. Combine the two and you have a winner. psychological thrillers are big sellers, but are more complicated than your average movie. Unless the writer has a psychology degree, there are a lot of research done to ensure that everything is accurate. It takes a very intelligent film to outsmart these days, most of us do not mention the fact that the film should have an added touch of their own to make it stand out from the rest. Some of the most interesting films of all time are psychological thrillers. Some great examples are The Shining, The Silence of the Lambs, Jacob's Ladder, The Sixth Sense, Fatal Attraction, misery, Carrie and Psycho. My list, of course, is much longer.
Why am I telling you all this? To send back in time for your own horror movie experience! Take all movies that made him cling to the edge of your seat, cover your head in the middle of the night, carefully check under your bed, look behind the shower curtain, think twice before touching a board Ouiga and not wanting a clown at her birthday party and compare them with the following movies have been released in recent years: Jennifer's Body, The Happening, Whiteout, mirrors, fog and so on. These certainly were not box office hits and there are plenty more where they came from. Do not get me wrong, has not been a decent horror movies here and there over the last few years, but they were few and far between.
I miss movies horror! Now, if only we could wake of Stephen King from the dead and bring back the same M. Shayamalan gentleman who gave us The Sixth Sense, they collaborate with Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese in a movie written by Sylvia Nasar and could be in something.
