horror movie discussion
Can anyone tell me, what horror film murderers are based on real murderers?

My husband and I are "having a debate" they disagree on what is fiction and which are based on real events or persons. said that none of the films are really popular, and still trying to explain that many of them are very popular. when asked for examples I give him "are not good enough" for him … (Face ei.leather, Gacy, Helter Skelter, etc. ..) thanks in advance! He keeps saying that all movies based on real events are not popular, and I'm trying to prove him wrong … by the way, I'm not thinking of any murderer in a particular series, I'm trying to think of all that is brought into popular cinema. thanks again
