Have you heard of the new horror movie, “Orphan”?

Looks like the latest version of The Bad Seed, the classic bad adoptee movie.

I read that some adoptive parents’ groups are calling for a boycott of this moving saying it reinforces stereotypes about adoptees and adoption.

What do you think?

Here’s the trailer:

Oops, I meant “movie” not “moving”.

I think its just another summer trash movie not worth seeing again. My brother in law is a projectionist at a local theater and I was visiting him one night when the movie was having an advanced screening. Hardly worth the electricity to show it even once. Anyway, I’m of the mindset that most boycotts only just draw attention to the thing they want people to avoid and that without the boycott they would have avoided it anyway. All any fuss will do is get people to go see an otherwise forgettable move.
