The most popular horror movies of all time
Horror films are designed to frighten and panic, to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrible end, impressive. The first films were gothic terror – which means it usually created in murder old mansions, castles, dark and gloomy places.
The main character of these films were "unknown," human, supernatural creatures as vampires, demons, ghosts, monsters, demons, evil spirits, werewolves to the invisible presence of evil. The first horror film, it was only two minutes term created by French filmmaker Georges Méliès "Castillo del Diablo" (Le Manoir du Diable) (1896), which contained some elements of more vampire movies.
The most influential of the first films was "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (Das Kabinet des Doktor Cligari) (1919) silent the classic German expressionist signal. In the 1930 Universal Studios has created a modern film genre and brought to the screen the blockbuster films as "Dracula," "Frankenstein" and "The Mummy."
In horror movies late 50s became a gorie much as the technical side of cinematography became at lower cost. In the early '60s saw the release of two films that bridge the gap between subject and viewer. One of them was "Peeping Tom" and the other was "Psycho," both films and no use of human monsters rather than supernatural to scare the audience.
"The Exorcist" (1973) beat all records for a horror film, after the 1975 "Jaws" became the most successful film in history. Movies horror turned to mocking irony and outright parody in the 1990s, when teenagers in Scream often refers to the history of horror movies.
There is no argument that horror films are socially and morally irresponsible, and even the influence of some people to imitate the brutal methods of murderers portrayed on screen.
Anyway horror films have the opposite effect on normal people – sick minds will commit crimes anyway. When see horror films we find our secret fears, share them with other viewers and eliminate terror against her.

Nice post. Personally I am a sucker for horror and sci-fi movies, but when it comes to horror I always prefer the supernatural kind. Especially the ones that touch on the occult.
