Where does this theme of the film come from?
I love horror film music, especially the type most creepy and chilling, and of my favorite pieces is the uncomfortable creepy opening theme music of the 1980 film, The Shining, which I thought was an original piece music. However, recently I saw a cheesy low-budget film called Cry of the mutilated, apparently came several years before the blaze, but had the same song in the film, though somewhat varied. I am a bit put off, and I thought this piece was an original piece of The Shining, but here was used in another film, and a previous, though. Would anyone know the true origin of this piece? It was originally a classical piece of something?
… That all reason to suspect that Wendy Carlos and Rachel Elkind-composed the opening theme for the classic 1980 horror / horror film "The Shining" may have been inspired by a much more classic piece, the origins of the subject dates back to the sampling of a work in the early 18 th century classical orchestration (# 14: "Dies Irae "), called" Symphonie Fantastique "and is composed by Hector Berlioz. In fact, in regard to this particular theme and variations the issue closely, you find that quite often used in other horror movies as well, including such classics as "The Screaming Skull" "X: The Unknown", "Curse of the Demon" and "Caltiki, the Immortal Monster "….
