I'm trying to find a movie about brain implants with Internet access called the current snapshot.?
In this future society, nobody had to learn to read, since all information can be accessed from the implants, or current. A man can not use it due to a brain defect, and had to learn to read. Later, people began to get a virus that made them go crazy and eventually die. The main character realized it was because of the current. I had to find a way to turn off the current, while the intent to evade all people who keep ruining their comfortable lifestyle. I watched this movie on television. I do not know the title or the actors, but I have to use for my English class and we're doing a science fiction unit soon. It's a perfect tie to get students to think about the effect of technology on human society.
I think you refer to "The Outer Limits Season 3, Episode 5 entitled Stream of Consciousness that was issued on 7 February 1997. In a world where neural implants allow instant access to information worldwide, Ryan Unger, (George Newbern) is a throwback, an idiot. Because brain injury he suffered as a child, he is unable to take the current – an electronic collection of all human knowledge – so it struggles in vain to keep reading books, an art primitive and forgotten. But when a current virus starts killing people by overloading their brains with the data, only Ryan has the skills and independence to stop it.
